안녕하세요 조서목 박사 입니다 ~^^
오늘은 소리에 대한 내용을 가지고왔답니다. 여러분 혹시 '백색 소음' 이라고 들어보셨나요?
흔히들 소음이라고 하면 시끄럽고 불쾌감을 느낄 수 있는 소리라고 생각할 수 있는데요. 이런 소음 중에도 일부러 찾아 듣게 되는 소음이 있다고 합니다. 칭얼거리는 아이에게 비닐봉지를 바스락 거리는 소리를 들려주었더니 조용해졌다는 얘기 들어보셨나요? 그 효과는 아이가 소리를 들음으로써 혼자가 아니라 엄마가 나를 어루어 만져주고 있구나 라는 외로움에서 탈피된 소리를 느낀다고해요. 바로 이러한 것을 백색소음 효과라고 한답니다! 오늘은 요즘 엄마들 사이에서 '착한 소음'으로 불리는 백색소음은 과연 무엇인지, 어떤 효과가 있는지 살펴볼게요
백색소음이란 다른 주파수대의 소리가 결합된 연속적인 소음의 일종으로 인간의 귀로 들을 수 있는 모든 소리를 합쳐놓은 소리입니다. 여러 가지 빛을 섞으면 흰색이 되는 것처럼 모든 소리를 다 합쳤다는 뜻에서 ‘백색(白色)’이란 이름이 붙었는데요. 귀에 거슬리는 잡음, 시끄러운 소리를 소음이라고 한다면, 백색소음은 오히려 거슬리는 주변 소음을 덮어주는 작용을 한다고 해요. 예를 들어, 도서관에 백색소음을 설치하는 경우도 있는데요 이걸 바로 '소음 중화기' 라고 합니다. 이렇게 설치하는 이유는 일정한 소리를 발생시켜 집중에 방해될 수 있는 소음을 인식하지못하도록 하는거죠! 즉 적막감을 해소함으로써 주변과 어울린다는 안정감이 집중력을 더 향상시킨답니다.
?백색소음은 균등한 저주파수 대역의 소리로 주변의 다른 일반 소음을 덮어주는 기능을 합니다. 대표적인 예로는 파도소리, 빗소리, 카페 소음을 들 수 있는데요, 주파수가 일정하고 고정된 패턴이 없기 때문에 귀에 거슬리지 않으며 ?쉽게 익숙해져 집중도를 높이는데 도움이 됩니다.
?백색소음의 효과가 알려지면서 도서관이나 독서실보다 카페에서 공부하는 것을 선호하는 학생들이 늘어나고 이처럼 그냥 무심코 지나치는 소리들이 우리에게 정말 영향을 많이 끼친다는 사실, 놀랍지않나요? ? 그리고 목소리로 사람의 심리 탐구가 가능하다는 점! 즉 감정의 표출을 성대로 표출함으로써 소리의 다양한 특징과 심리분석이 가능하답니다 ~^^
